Work Experience for Year 10, March 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Year 10 Work Experience Week – Monday 16th March to Friday 20th March 2026
We are pleased to inform you that Work Experience Week for Year 10 students will take place from Monday 16th to Friday 20th March. This is an exciting opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience of the working world and to develop valuable skills that will support their future education and career choices.
Work experience enables students to:
- Gain insight into different industries and job roles.
- Develop essential employability skills such as communication, teamwork, and time management.
- Increase their confidence and independence in new environments.
- Make more informed decisions about post-16 options, including further education, apprenticeships, or training pathways.
- Understand employer expectations and the importance of workplace behaviour and professional standards.
Students are encouraged to find their own placements where possible, as this helps them to develop initiative and communication skills but for students who do require help, I will be running a Lunch Club in the Library every Thursday Lunchtime to support.
Once you have secured a Work Experience placement, you must complete the form linked here by Monday 8th December: https://forms.office.com/e/q6fjN8gXwL
Once completed we can then begin the Health & Safety checks to confirm your child’s Work Experience placement.
Please see listed below some of the different organisations our students have had placements with:
- Bristol Brunel Fitness Centre
- Air Balloon School
- NHS
- University of Bristol (Engineering, Science, History, Art)
- Toni & Guy
- Rolls Royce
- Bristol Old Vic
Please be aware some placements will not advertise Work Experience opportunities on their socials, but you can enquire via the ‘Contact Us’ section of the organisation’s website for information on Work Experience.
We believe that work experience is an invaluable part of our students’ personal and career development, and we appreciate your support in helping them prepare for this important week.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Hunt on Kobe.Hunt@CLF.uk for more support.
Thank you for your continued support.
