  • The structure of the day closely resembles the usual academy day, starting with assembly at 8.45am.
  • The number of lessons for each subject per week is the same as the usual timetable.
  • Approximately 50% of lessons are taught live, with blended learning set for remaining lessons.
  • Work completed will be uploaded via teams assignment, MS Forms and SMHW.  Work can also be photographed and emailed to staff.
  • The timetable is emailed.

Time

Work is set for a total of 5 hours per day.  This is the same as a normal academy day.  Additionally, there is a 15 min assembly to begin the day.

Access

Live lesson links and all work is set on Show My Homework.  Log on through your Office 365 account (via the CLF website) using your usual login.

Online Access Issues

If you experience any issues getting online please contact your year team who will provide assistance.

Teaching Methods

Around 50% of lessons are live lessons (higher for some year groups), taught using MS Teams.  For the remainder of lessons blended learning is set which could be other online platforms (such as Seneca or Hegarty Maths), writing, MS Forms, assignments or practical work such as Art.

Engagement

Students are expected to attend all live lessons including assembly at 8.45am.  Break and lunch times remain the same as the normal academy day.  The day ends slightly earlier at 2.30pm, designed to give students opportunity to do off screen enrichment activities provided as a menu each week.

Staff track attendance at live lessons and also work submitted.  Should a student not be engaging parents will receive a phone call from the year team or another member of staff as soon as possible – usually that morning.

Feedback

Feedback will be provided via automatic methods such as quizzes in the blended learning and also questions set in live lessons.  Staff will provide feedback on work submitted where appropriate and at least twice a half term.  Any concerns please contact the year team in the first instance.

Additional Needs

The SEND team will continue to work with students with additional needs to provide support.  Any concerns please contact the year team or key worker.

Work for Isolating Students

When the academy returns any students isolating will be provided with work set by teachers.  This will be the same content as covered in that week’s lessons for students.
