Year 11 Exam Period Information

Dear Parents & Carers

I wanted to share some key documents with you that will keep you informed and able to continue to support your child with their revision over the next few weeks.

  1. GCSE Exam Timetable 25-26 outlines all the exams that are taking place.

  1. Y11 Daily Exam Schedule outlines what is happening daily for Year 11 students. The priority in this document is working through it left to right (exams, revision sessions, normal lessons in this priority).

There will be a timetabled revision class (normally Lesson 3 or 4) in the 24 hours before the exam to give students crucial time with their teacher to revise key topics so that they feel confident going into the exam.

This also shows the tutor time plan (from Friday 8th May) where students have the option of having time with the subject team for the exam the following day, an independent learning space in SC1 or they can leave the academy at 2:30 to revise at home. This decision is based on feedback from previous Year 11 cohorts. If you do not want your child to leave the academy at 2:30 please contact the year team.

Towards the end of the exam period, students will leave after lunch time on a few days, provided they do not have an exam in the afternoon. This will be after they have completed their revision sessions (see the document for more details).

  1. Guidance around Exam Rules & Regulations. Students have received several assemblies outlining the rules and how to be successful in the exams room. There is a short video that summarises some key areas – CLICK HERE

Students need to wear the correct uniform for exams and be fully equipped with pens, pencils, calculator, maths equipment and see through/clear pencil case.

Timings & Dates

The academy will be open from 7:45am for any student who wants to revise and Subject teams will be on hand to support with any last minute revision in the morning before an exam. Students should be in school at 8:20am at the latest. There is a morning exam briefing in the conservatory at 8:30am for those students who are sitting the exam led by the Curriculum Leader sharing last minute key information. Students need to arrive to the academy and their exam on time to ensure that they exam can start at the scheduled time, as we are unable to delay the start time of exams.

Students are expected in school every day until 15.6.26 (after their Combined Science/Physics exam). After this date, students are just required to come in for exams.

There is a Contingency Day on 24.6.26 which is to cater for the unlikely event that an exam is postponed due to national or local disruption.

Please remember that we are here to support your child over the next few weeks, so do contact us if you need any more information.

I am wishing your child all the success in this exam period.

Yours faithfully,

Tom Leahy
