Return to School Year 8 – 11

Dear Parent/Carer
We hope that you have had a lovely summer break.
We are delighted to welcome students back to the Academy and are looking forward to seeing them in the morning at 8:20am.
Year 11 and Year 7 arriving at the Main Entrance
Years 8, 9 and 10 arriving at the Duncombe Lane Entrance
Year Teams will meet students on arrival where they will then be directed to either a Tutor period or an Assembly. All students will receive their timetables first thing in the morning.
Please be aware that we have moved to a new management information system, and your patience is appreciated as we go through the transition process.
We would like students to attend tomorrow in full Academy uniform so that we can support all students in meeting our uniform expectations in preparation for the year ahead. Due to the warmer weather, we will allow students to remove ties and blazers for the rest of this week (they will not need to bring them into the Academy on Thursday or Friday) but need to have full uniform tomorrow, in the first instance. A reminder that students can wear black tailored school shorts all year round.
Homework will continue to be set via Satchel One/Show My Homework and log ins will remain as they were last year. If your child has any difficulties with their log ins, please ask them to speak to their Tutor.
A reminder that all students need a school bag with a fully equipped pencil case and a scientific calculator we would strongly recommend that they bring in a refillable water bottle, that can be refilled throughout the day using our water fountains.
We are excited about the year ahead and are looking forward to working closely with you to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people. We know that the start of the year is an important time for us to establish our routines and we appreciate your support with this.
