Parental Permissions
Dear Parents/Carers,
As an Academy, we are enormously proud of the efforts of our students. As a way of showcasing some of the wonderful talent we have here, we like to share photographs around the Academy and on our social media outlets.
We require parental permission to use student photos in this way. Students who are aged 13 or older will also be asked to provide consent because the Information Commissioner indicates that, as a general guide, a student of 13 years of age or above is likely to be mature enough to make decisions about their own information. In light of this, an email has been sent to all students in Years 9 and above to seek their permissions also.
You can view and edit your parental consents for photos (and Biometrics which is used for the cashless till system) in the My Child At School (MCAS) app under the parental consent tile. If you are experiencing issues logging in to the MCAS app, please reset your password. If you have not yet activated your MCAS account, please download the app and sign in with either the school ID 14277 or school postcode BS15 1NU and the email address we have on file for you. Please ensure that you enable your notifications so that you do not miss important messages/alerts.
The UK General Data Protection Regulations requires that consent must be given freely. If you wish to discuss this further, or have any questions or queries regarding this, please contact the Academy Office on 0117 3772700.
Yours faithfully
Bristol Brunel Academy
